The Unique Qualities of Flavoured Green Tea

For a good introduction to the delights of flavoured green tea, you could try the famous Ronnefeldt Morning Dew (Morgentau). This zingy composition blends Sencha with mango and citrus flavours to create a refreshing drink that can be enjoyed hot or as an iced tea.

Another great-tasting variety is Ronnefeldt Green Ginger & Lemon, a fiery ginger and fruity lemon blend that will enliven the nose and palate, while more traditional varieties include the minty Ronnefeldt Green Oasis and Ronnefeldt Green Lemon. Take a look at our extensive range to discover your favourite flavoured green tea online.

Harvesting and Production

Green tea is created by preventing the freshly picked tea leaves from turning brown (oxidisation). In tea language we call this fermentation. To prevent fermentation the green leaves are rapidly heated soon after picking. Immediately after being picked, green tea leaves are treated to stop the natural process of oxidisation. Japanese green tea is steamed, while Chinese green tea is traditionally pan roasted. The result is an unfermented tea that retains many of its naturally-occurring vitamins and minerals.

How to Brew Flavoured Green Tea

Whether you want to use the loose leaves or try a tea bag infusion, the standard process is the same.

The standard process is as follows:

  1. Boil some freshly poured cold water
  2. Place the tea leaves in a tea strainer
  3. Pour the hot water over the leaves
  4. Steep the tea for the appropriate amount of time
  5. Strain the tea
  6. Sit back and enjoy!

Brewing Table

Ranging from 1 levelled teaspoon to 1 heaped teaspoon

   2 – 4 minutes

A range of colours including: Yellow/Green, Bright Yellow, Golden Yellow, Amber

NOTE: Please make sure to read the individual brewing instructions on each package of tea.

The most exquisite flavoured green teas are those that achieve the perfect balance of ingredients: enough flavour to complement the tea, without overpowering its own characteristic taste.

Our Flavoured green tea favourites are below:
